Design, Development & Implementation of an MIS System
Provided technical assistance to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Investor Services and MIS Directorates to support their effort to develop an electronic Enterprise Registration and Permitting System. The effort included business process reengineering prior to electronically enabling processes at ASEZA's One Stop Shop-through the design, development, and deployment of the system. The system connected ASEZA's Investor Services Directorate with other relevant ASEZA directorates as well as other Government bodies-enhancing internal and external communication. The system's objective was to enable investors to fill and submit registration and permitting forms online, in addition to tracking the status of their submitted applications online. The system also presented a useful management tool for ASEZA’s top management and decision makers through providing functional and statistical updates. The work received the Silver Award for the Middle East and Africa region from the Global Excellence in Workflow Awards for innovation and excellence in workflow implementations for 2003. The award is jointly sponsored by the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC: www.wfmc.org) and the Workflow And Reengineering International Association (WARIA: www.waria.com).
