Provision of technical assistance to the Industrial Modernisation Programme (IMP) for Jordan
Al Jidara has won the Industrial Modernisation Programme (IMP) under a consortium led by Transtec SA, to provide technical assistance for local Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) over a range of different assignments and mainly for the benefit of the Jordanian Upgrading and Modernization Programme (JUMP).
The specific objectives of the project are:
• To strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and to assist the relevant Jordanian institutions in establishing a conducive environment for industrial modernisation, including the establishment of the Jordan Upgrading and Modernisation Programme or JUMP (component iv/v). Assistance to JUMP will include support to promote exports, and business upgrading and incubator start-up activities.
• To enhance the availability and effectiveness of financial instruments for beneficiary enterprises, especially for medium and long-term financing;
• To strengthen the capacity of vocational training and other education providers to contribute effectively to the aims of industry modernisation.
